Hi, I'm Colleen!

Get to know me!

I’m a contemporary romance author, therapist, fangirl, and cat mom to an adorable kitten named Harry Styles (very fitting, I know).

While I’m currently based in Nashville, I was born and raised in New York. Creativity has been central to my identity for my entire life. I started dancing around my house as soon as I could walk, frequently using my guard rail on my bed as a ballet barre. My parents would read me countless books every night, and my grandma would take me to Barnes and Noble every Wednesday, fostering a love for reading.

For as long as I can remember, I’ve loved writing. I would spend hours sitting on my family computer (very early 2000s core), creating story after story. I spent two summers going to a creative writing camp, which further solidified my adoration for the craft. However, as I got older, I started writing less. I became more serious about my dance training, and my struggle with OCD made me overthink every word I put on a page.

My experience of recovering from an eating disorder, being auDHD (autistic + ADHD), and living with OCD and depression has given me a passion for helping others – which is what led me to become a therapist.

The years of my own work in therapy are what eventually brought me back to my love for writing. Through rewiring disordered patterns and embracing both imperfection and uncertainty, I’ve learned that life is too short to let anything keep me from getting words on a page and into the hands of readers.

On a typical day, you can find me bouncing back and forth between doing therapy sessions, writing outside (especially by the pool in the summer), playing with my cat, and hanging out with my lovely girlfriend…and probably scrolling on social media for far too long.
